Studio portrait of 247 Private (Pte) Arthur Donald Leigh, 31st Battalion, of North Ipswich, Qld. A fitter prior to enlisting in July 1915, Pte Leigh embarked from Melbourne on board HMAT Bakara (A41) on 5 November 1915. He arrived in France for service on the Western Front on 23 June 1916 and was killed in action at Fleurbaix, France, on 20 July 1916. He was 23 years of age.
