Studio portrait of 1928 Private (Pte) Alexander Miller Budge, 35th Battalion, of Stanmore, NSW. An engineer prior to enlisting in March 1916, Pte Budge embarked from Sydney with the 2nd Reinforcements on board HMAT Port Sydney (A15) on 4 September 1916. He was killed in action at Passchendaele, Belgium, on 12 October 1917. Pte Budge was 21 years of age.
