Description

Studio portrait of 21894 Able Seaman (AB) Geoffrey George Willis, HMAS Perth, of Sydney, NSW. Willis enlisted in the Royal Australian Navy in March 1938. He joined the crew of HMAS Perth in July 1940 and was promoted to Able Seaman in November. AB Willis became a prisoner of war following the sinking of HMAS Perth in the Sunda Strait, Indonesia, on 1 March 1942 . He died of illness in Burma on 15 September 1943, aged 22.
