Studio portrait of Corporal G S Unsworth. Image is from a commemorative Honour Board with a group portrait and individual studio portraits of men who worked at Hoffnung & Co Ltd, Brisbane, Queensland and who served in the First World War. Believed to be 33721 Corporal Geoffrey Standish Unsworth, 14th Field Artillery Brigade (FAB) from Brisbane. A 27 year old clerk prior to enlisting on 18 August 1916, he embarked for overseas with the FAB Reinforcements from Sydney on 10 May 1917 aboard HMAT Marathon (A74). While serving on the Western Front, he was gassed in November 1917 and evacuated to England for medical treatment. On recovering, he continue to serve in the UK until returning to Australia where he arrived on 21 June 1920.
