Studio portrait of 4667 Private (Pte) (Temporary Sergeant) Elton Edward Rogers, 1st Battalion, of Sunny Corner, NSW. A school teacher prior to enlistment, he embarked from Sydney, NSW, with the 14th Reinforcements aboard HMAT Osterley on 15 January 1916. Pte Rogers was killed in action in France on 24 July 1916, aged 22. This portrait was given to Elton Rogers student Dorothy Ledgard in 1917 after Pte Rogers death.
