Studio portrait of Q16446 Private Ronald Axtell, aged 20, taken when he was serving with the Citizen Military Forces. Axtell later enlisted with the Second AIF, under service number QX52832 and saw service in the Pacific with 7 Australian Advanced Ammunition Depot. He was discharged on 23 May 1946.
