Studio portrait of Petty Officer John Alfred Draper who volunteered for service with the Royal Navy on 11 May 1940 under service number PMX501806. He saw service in combined operations off the French coast and in Asian waters. In the early 1980s he met Gurkha Lance Corporal Ram Bahadur Limbu VC, who presented him with a traditional Gurkha kukri knife which is now held at the Australian War Memorial. See REL42502
