"Deep end of Ultimo Lane at La Basse Ville looking east." 'This trench was made serviceable by Lt Harvey's platoon, being deepened here from about 5' to about 10'. It passed right thro' the village.' (One of a collection of photographs belonging to Lieutenant (Lt) Robert Trevor Williams and taken by Lt William Wyatt Harvey during a battlefield tour of France and Belgium, January 1919, by officers of the 3rd Pioneer Battalion.
