"Captain Kerr's grave." 'I was present at his funeral.' Original cross on the grave of Captain (Capt) Eric John Kerr, 11th Field Ambulance, in Ypres Reservoir Cemetery (also known as Prison Cemetery). A medical practitioner prior to enlistment, Capt Kerr served as Medical Officer with the 3rd Pioneer Battalion before transferring to the 11th Field Ambulance in June 1917. He was killed by an enemy shell on 4 October 1917 whilst in charge of a forward Regimental Aid Post established for the Battle of Broodseinde in Belgium.
