Studio portrait of W2983 Stoker (Sto) 2nd Class Thomas William Bracher RAN, HMAS Matafele. Stoker Bracher enlisted on 12 October 1943. He was on board the supply ship HMAS Matafele when it disappeared with all hands whilst on a routine voyage between Townsville and Milne Bay sometime after the 20 June 1944. Listed on the Roll of Honour as having died on 24 June 1944, Sto Bracher was aged 18 at the time of his death and has no known grave.
