Description

MiG Aircraft Head Up Display (HUD). The unit consists of a heavy glass display panel above a projection unit in front of which is an adjustable scale and a reading scale one above the other. There is an indicator light on the top right side of the scales. On the left and right sides of the scales are adjustable dials and on the right side under the adjustable dial is a brightness adjustment dial for the read out on the glass panel. At the front of the unit is a leather covered hard foam pad to lessen the impact if a pilot was thrown forward onto the unit. To the left and right side of the pad are tow more indicator lights, each with a rubberised hood. To the left of the projector unit is a small gauge with two indicator lights above it on the upper left side. There are several locations on the unit that have part numbers and Russian Cyrillic lettering on them. A rubberised fabric covered power cord with a metal coupling extends from the rear of the unit. The unit rests in a metal cradle which has a single heavy cast metal attachment point bolted to the rear.
