Description

Collection relating to the First World War service of Major Walter Whyte Ellis who served with 13 Battalion, Gallipoli. Collection consists of letters and postcards by Ellis and others; photographs of Ellis's grave and a commemorative scroll. Major Ellis was killed in action on 3 May 1915 at Gallipoli. A small booklet for a Military Memorial Service conducted for the late Walter Whyte Ellis at St Peter's Church in Hamilton, NSW on 6 June 1915 was added to this collection in August 2012.
