Point Cook May 1942- Group photo
Description
Group portrait of trainees at Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) base at Point Cook, Victoria. Identified middle row, fourth from left, is 20017 Corporal (Cpl) James Keith Porteous. Cpl Porteous enlisted in the RAAF on 29 April 1940, serving with the 453 Squadron in Malaya, Singapore, and the Netherlands East Indies. He escaped to Australia before the Fall of Singapore on 15 February 1942. He was discharged on 18 January 1946.
