"A" Flight 453 Squadron in flight over Malaya 1941.
Description
453 Sqaudron, Royal Australian Air Force, flying Brewster Buffalo aircraft over Malaya. The 453 Squadron arrived in Singapore between 15-21 August 1941 and were equipped with the obselete Brewster Buffalo aircraft. By 5 February 1942, when 453 Squadron withdrew from Singapore to Sumatra, only six Brewster Buffalo aircraft remained operational, the others having been damaged or destroyed.
