Brewsters August 1941 453 Squadron
Description
Brewster Buffalo aircraft flown by 453 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), lined up at Sembawang airfield. The 453 Squadron arrived in Singapore between 15-21 August 1941 and were equipped with the obselete Brewster Buffalo aircraft. By 5 February 1942, when 453 Squadron withdrew from Singapore to Sumatra, only six Brewster Buffalo aircraft remained operational, the others having been damaged or destroyed.
