Studio portrait of 20109 Private (Pte) Henry Alphonsus Torpey, Australian Medical Corps, of East Melbourne, Vic (originally Limerick, Ireland). A railway worker prior to enlistment , he embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Medic (A7) on 20 May 1916. Gnr Torpey served on the Western Front and was killed in action on 5 June 1917. He was 33 years of age.
