Studio portrait of Lieutenant (Lt) Andrew Percival Rowan, 10th Light Horse Regiment (LHR). A grazier from Merredin, WA, at the time of enlistment, he embarked from Fremantle aboard HMAT Surada (A52) on 17 February 1915. Lt Rowan was promoted to Captain (Capt) after recovering from a minor head injury in June 1915. Capt Rowan, aged 39, was killed in action on 7 August 1915, whilst leading the charge at Walker's Ridge.
