Studio portrait of 985 Private (Pte) Wylie McLeod Smith, D Company, 25th Battalion, of Harrisville, Qld. A farmer prior to enlistment, he embarked from Brisbane, Qld aboard HMAT Aeneas (A60) on 29 June 1915. Pte Smith died of illness in France on 17 August 1917. He was 26 years of age.
