Group portrait of airmen walking past a B-17 Flying Fortress Bomber. Identified is 403609 Sergeant (Sgt) Gordon John Thame (second from right), No 2 Squadron, RAAF. A bank official from Willoughby, NSW prior to enlistment on 3 February 1941, Sgt Thame died on flying operations over Batchelor, Northern Territory on 4 December 1942. He was 30 years of age.
