Description
Members of the RAAF line up around the newly consecrated graves at Bomana War Cemetery, Papua New Guinea. One of the graves is that of 400871 Flight Sergeant Austin James Collins, air gunner. Flt Sgt Collins served in Malaya with the RAF and returned to Australia after the fall of Singapore. He was then posted to 22 Squadron RAAF, in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. He was lost on operations in New Guinea on 1 June 1943.
