The newly erected cross on the grave of 400871 Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) Austin James Collins, air gunner, at Bomana War Cemetery, Papua New Guinea,. Flt Sgt Collins served in Malaya with the RAF and returned to Australia after the fall of Singapore. He was then posted to 22 Squadron RAAF, in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. He was lost on operations in New Guinea on 1 June 1943.
