Description
Pte Jimmy Orr (signaller) using a radio at a jungle camp of 11 Platoon, D Company, 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR) during a border patrol in Malaya. The Malayan Emergency was officially over however 2RAR was on active service in the border area classified as a "Black Zone". 2RAR served in this area from July to late October 1962 and from 28 May until 2 July 1963.
