Description

Two 9 Squadron Iroquois UH-1H helicopters at Fire Support base (FSB) Anderson during Operation Coburg. One of the helicopters is probably taking off and the other is parked on the Landing Zone (LZ) amongst sandbagged positions. Operation Coburg was conducted in Bien Ho and Long Khan Provinces over 386 square kilometres and was intended to deny the Viet Cong (VC) launch sites for 122mm rocket attacks on Long Binh and Bien Ho airfields. All three infantry battalions, 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR), 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR) and 7th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (7RAR), participated in this operation.
