Description

Studio portrait of 1683 Private Arthur Crick, 57th Battalion (later 58th Battalion), of Beaufort, Vic. A woodcarter prior to enlistment, he embarked from Melbourne with the 2nd Reinforcements aboard HMAT Euripides (A14) on 4 April 1916. Crick served on the Western Front and he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant (Sgt) on 17 April 1917. Sgt Crick was killed in action at Passchendaele, Belgium on 15 October 1917. He was 25 years of age.
