Studio portrait of 1315 Private (Pte) Ernest John Beadle, 7th Battalion, of Brighton, Vic. A carpenter prior enlistment, he embarked with the 2nd Reinforcements aboard HMAT Clan Macgillivray (A46) on 2 February 1915. Pte Beadle served in Egypt and Gallipoli; he was killed in action in Turkey on 8th August 1915, aged 27. His brother Pte Walter Harold Beadle, C Company, 5th Battalion was killed in action in France on 10 August 1918.
