Description

Studio portrait of 974 Private (Pte) William Keating, C Company, 32nd Battalion, of Geraldton, WA. A horse driver prior to enlistment, he embarked from Adelaide, SA, aboard HMAT Geelong (A2) on 18 November 1915. Pte Keating was killed in action in France on 20 July 1916. He was 24 years of age. His brothers 6068 Pte Thomas Keating, 11th Battalion was killed in action on 7 October 1917 and 5735 Pte James Keating (MM), 16th Battalion returned to Australia on 12 March 1918.
