German National Emblem breast badge
Description
Woven rayon German Army breast eagle (worn on the right breast) showing a white stylised eagle with outstretched wings, holding a wreathed swastika in its talons, on a dark green ground. The badge is on its original backing and would have been cut out from it before being sewn to the right breast of the uniform.

This badge is an example of a German Army other ranks uniform breast badge.
Officers' badges were made to the same design but were executed in silk or metal thread embroidery.
