Description

Collection relating to SX5975 Major Stanley Liddelow Seymour who served with 2/8 Field Ambulance, Australian Army Medical Corps during the Second World War. Collection consists of a carbon copy of typed 2 page letter, written by SX2909 Lieutenant Colonel Bertram S. Hanson, to Major Seymour's wife, Betty. Dated 10 November 1942, the letter describes both the circumstances of Seymour's death, and the sense of loss experienced by Lt Col Hanson and his fellow soldiers. Seymour was killed in action at the Battle of El Alamein on 25 October 1942.
