Studio portrait of Lieutenant Harold Ernest Lofts, who served with the New South Wales Contingent in the Boxer Uprising. He embarked on 8 August 1900 aboard SS Salamis and returned to Australia aboard SS Chingtu on 25 April 1901. He also served in the First World War.
