Outdoor portrait of a large group of unidentified allied prisoners of war (POW) at Güstrow POW camp, Germany. The handwritten note on the reverse of the image reads: "International group of prisoners - Güstrow 1918. The group includes - Russians, Romanians, Italians, Indians, Portuguese, Australians, French, Belgians, English, Americans, Japanese and Hindus. The photo was taken by an official German photographer - & circulated in Germany for publicity purposes." One of a series of 157 images from the collection of 4199 Sergeant William Charles Groves, 14th Battalion, an Australian prisoner of war held at Güstrow POW camp in Germany.
