Studio portrait of Captain Wallace Gordon Jewkes, Senior Cadets, later Lieutenant, 39th Battalion. Lt Jewkes was shot during a raid on a German trench in the Houplines sector, Armentieres, and died of these wounds on 10 January 1917. He was aged 22 years.
