Informal outdoor group portrait of 387016 (446735, V158149, VX135431) Sergeant (Sgt) Norman Strange MM (right) and a group of women on the dock at Port Melbourne before boarding HMAS Shropshire for the Victory march in England. Sgt Strange enlisted on 17 April 1939 at Ballarat and served with the 8 Battalion and was awarded the Military Medal. He survived the war and was discharged on 13 September 1946
