Informal outdoor portrait of VX24300 Lieutenant (Lt) George Alfred D'Herville, 2/23 Australian Infantry Battalion. Lt D'Herville enlisted on 17 June 1940 at Caulfield, Vic. Lt D'Herville died of wounds sustained in battle on 1 November 1942. He is buried in the El Alamein War Cemetery, Egypt.
