Studio portrait of 3681 Private (Pte) Raymond Leslie Trigg, 58th Battalion, of Geelong, Victoria. A cabinet maker prior to enlistment, Pte Trigg embarked on the 29th of December 1915 aboard HMAT Demosthenes (A64) with the 21st Battalion. He was initially transferred to the 60th Battalion in February 1916 as part of the 'doubling-up' of the AIF, however a month later he was taken on strength by the 58th Battalion. Pte Trigg was killed in action on 19 July 1916, aged 23 at Fromelles and has no known grave. He is commemorated at VC Corner Australian Cemetery and Memorial, Fromelles, France.
