Studio portrait of 603 Private (Pte) John Stephen Livermore, 7th Light Horse Regiment. A shoe-smith in Cargo, NSW, before enlistment, he embarked from Sydney with the 1st Reinforcements on 19 December 1914 aboard HMAT Berrima (A35). Pte Livermore served at Gallipoli, in Egypt, and in England before leaving for France in 1917 where he transferred to the 4th Australian Field Artillery Brigade. He returned to Australia on 14 December 1918. During the Second World War, N67942 Pte Livermore served with the Australian Army in the 21 Australian Employment Company. He died of illness on 26 December 1946.
