Description
Collection relating to the First and Second World War service of Major John (Jack) Carr Ewen MC, DCM, MM. Collection consists fourteen letters written by Ewen to Gladys Hanson (they were married in October 1919), dated between July 1916 and February 1918, and one letter dated June 1942. Also included is a letter written by Warrant Officer Class II Frank G Hopkins, to Ewen in September 1942. Ewen was awarded a MM at Pozieres in August 1916, a DCM at Bullecourt in April 1917 and a MC for work near Herleville in August 1918.
