Description

Studio portrait of 419274 Flying Officer (FO) John Nathan Morris, 460 Squadron, RAAF. FO Morris's Lancaster aircraft was shot down over Hagenburg, Germany, on the night of 19/20 February 1944 whilst on an operation to bomb Leipzig. The aircraft had been attacked by an enemy fighter and the bomb boy set on fire. While a few of his fellow crew members were able to bale out in time, FO Morris was killed in the resulting air crash. His body is buried in Hanvover War Cemetery.
