Studio portrait of 2666 Private (Pte) Jack Allan Prior, 3rd Battalion. A farmer from Concord West, NSW, prior to enlistment, Pte Prior embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Runic on 9 August 1915. During his service Pte Prior's number was changed to 2666A. He was killed in action at Pozieres, France, on 23 July 1916. He was buried in the vicinity but post war his grave could not be located. He is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
