Set of 58 original prints produced by VX90116 Captain (Chaplain) Patrick Gerard O'Keefe of men and activities of the 2/2nd Field Ambulance (2/2nd Fld Amb). Taken at Aitape, Kiarivu and Wondecla, Queensland, Padre O'Keefe produced an unknown number of sets for sale to ex 2/2nd Fld Amb men. Each set was numbered and accompanied by a sheet of captions such as the one that accompanies this set. A rare, complete example of a soldier photographer's assembly, this one was purchased by the unit's Commanding Officer, VX241 Lieutenant Colonel Richard Stanley Smibert. Topics in the set include airfield construction using native labour and locally made earth moving equipment, medical evacuations by RAAF Auster aircraft, surrender of Lieutenant General Hatazo Adachi at Kiarivu, native porters, funerals and parades.
