Studio portrait of 400840 Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) Ronald Rashleigh Sillcock, a member of 53 Squadron RAF. A farmer in Yinnar VIC, Sillcock enlisted in the RAAF in 1940, completing his training overseas in Africa, England and the United States. Sillcock piloted a Hudson aircraft which was lost during operations over the Caribbean Sea on 10 November 1942 and at the time of his death had 400 hours of flying and two U boat attacks to his credit.
