United States Army Aviation Branch badge
A small badge featuring a silver propeller in a vertical position between two gold wings in a horizontal position. There is raised lettering on the back, 'MEYER METAL' and a maker's mark of a small shield. Attached to the reverse are two pins with butterfly clips.
The insignia of the United States Army Aviation Branch, this badge is based on, but differs to, the US Army and Air Force aviator badges.
Established in 1983, the United States Army Aviation Branch is the administrative organisation within the US Army responsible for doctrine, manning and configuration for all army aviation units. These units provide aerial support for army ground operations through reconnaissance, artillery spotting, fire direction, fire support and other functions.
