Studio portrait of 405758 Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) John Hubert Mellersh, RAAF. A shop assistant from Milton, Queensland prior to enlistment, Flt Sgt Mellersh was attached to 4 (C) Operational Training Squadron RAF when the Sunderland flying boat, of which he was a crew member, crashed into the Cromarty Firth, Scotland, killing all on board. He is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial, Surrey, England.
