Portrait of Mary Margaret (Peggy) MacInnes dressed up as a nurse and holding a bandaged teddy bear. Peggy's aunt, Sister Nellie Constance Morrice, enlisted in the AANS during the First World War, serving with No 1 Australian Stationary Hospital and No 2 Australian General Hospital. Sister Morrice made a miniature AIF nurse's uniform for a doll which she sent to Peggy from Egypt; the doll is now held in the collection of the Australian War Memorial at REL39961.
