The crest of HMAS Nizam
Description
The crest of HMAS Nizam. The Nizam was an N class destroyer, commissioned by the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) on 19 December 1940. The destroyer participated in the Western Desert, Crete, and Malta campaigns, as well as the Madagascar and South Atlantic operations. The Nizam was attached to the British Eastern Fleet, operating in the Indian Ocean and was present in Tokyo Bay during the Japanese surrender. The destroyer was decommissioned by the RAN in October 1945 and returned to the Royal Navy.
