Portrait of QX345 Private Arthur Francis Silvester near the Dead Sea, Jericho. On the 5 July 1941 Pte Silvester was involved in the dumping of Italian ammunition into the sea as part of the Army Service Corps duties. This dumping resulted in an explosion, killing Lieutenant Meggitt, two drivers and injuring several others.
