Studio portrait of S2784 Leading Supply Assistant Raymond Gale, RAN. A plasterer from Abbotsford, NSW, Gale enlisted on 4 September 1939. He was killed in action, aged 24, when HMAS Sydney was sunk in the Indian Ocean by the German auxiliary cruiser Kormoran on 20 November 1941.
