Description

Collection consists of a 70 page typescript manuscript, with illustrations, titled "Memories 2/17th Light Anti Aircraft (Airborne) Battery New Guinea 1942-43" compiled by Mike Dyer, the son of NX49416 Lieutenant Jack Dyer. Features short anecdotes and reminiscences from men who served with the 2/17th Light Anti Aircraft Battery (Airborne) taken from the Association's annual newsletters and arranged chronologically. In some cases details and observations from the unit war diaries have been used to support these stories. Includes a copy of the order of service booklet from the Commemorative Plaque Dedication Ceremony for the unit held at the Australian War Memorial in September 2011.
