6047 Warrant Officer Class 2 (WO2) Thomas Dudley Johnson, 23rd Battalion, his wife Amy and young son David on board HMAT Anchises (A68) during its voyage from England to Autralia in August 1919. The ship was one of the last to repatriate Australian troops and also carried a small number of wives and children of Australians who had married in England during the war. David Johnson joined the 2nd AIF on 2 May 1940, survived the war and remained in the Army until 1961, retiring as a WO2 with 2/12th Field Regiment.
