Studio portrait of NX53000 Gunner (Gnr) John Dugald Alexander McDonald, 2/5 Field Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery. A school teacher from Maclean, NSW, Gnr McDonald enlisted on 6 July 1940. He served in the Middle East and was killed in action in Papua on 16 November 1942, aged 32.
