Studio portrait of 775 Private (Pte) Harold Bliss Ling. A labourer from Ellalong, NSW, he embarked with the 4th Battalion from Sydney aboard the HMAT Euripides (A14) on 20 October 1914. Pte Ling was killed in action at Gallipoli on 19 July 1915, aged 25. The studio portrait is mounted in the centre of a colour montage print by Bloxham and Chambers (see image two). The montage depicts Lord Kitchener, General Joffre, Admiral Jellicoe, General French and HMAS Australia.
